Everyone: Help youth reach World Congress by hosting your very own Global Garage Sale!!

Dear Everyone,

Good News! The International Subud Youth team are putting on another world-wide fund-raiser for the IYTF (International Youth Travel Fund).  See, we want make sure we can help as many young people as possible from across the world to attend World Congress in Mexico next year (yes that’s right, it’s next year!!!). But to do that, we need to raise $60,000 in the next 12 months.

The theme this year is “Global Garage Sale.” The idea is simple: Groups or individuals donate the stuff they no longer use and sell it at a garage sale, with the funds raised all going to the IYTF. To create a feeling of community, the events will be held across the globe between May 25th and June 2nd 2013. Check out the trendy little flyer (above) for more the details.

In the past, volunteers have raised $3,000 all at once with similar events, and this time, with your help, we intend to double that to a massive $6,000. But wait… THERE’S MORE! By teaming up with national councils and other funding bodies, we will be setting up dollar for dollar matching fund donations, so for every dollar you raise, we will see two end up in the IYTF! Pretty cool, huh?

But without your help, this will all be for nothing! Help us spread the word by joining the Facebook event, sharing this post on your Facebook wall, and forwarding the message on to your friends and networks. If you have the technological power, please print off the flyer and put it up at your local group hall. Then dig through your old stuff, get some friends to help, and have a garage sale! It’s simple as that!
